Somebody tried to steal my prelude broke the ignition system. on 2001 Honda Prelude

Can I order a new one and replace it myself or should I take it to a dealer. How much does this type of repair cost

If you have comprehensive insurance, get the dealer to fix it! If not, the other answers have you covered.

Dealer may be more expensive at first , buy if your prelude has the early type immobilizer system , that may be your best bet in the long run.
Is it the ignition switch or key lock cylinder. If it's the lock cylinder you might seek help removing the mounting screws. they need to be drilled out. Have someone look at to see what you really need.
as long as it is just the ign cyl is broken you could probably change it yourself but if you have never done one before then I would take to your mechanic
