Software Update Available Which May Correct Transmission Issues on Kia Rio

Problem Description and Possible Solution

Reprogramming the transmission control module with the latest Kia transmission software may fix abnormalities in the automatic transmission and erroneous transmission-related Check Engine Light illumination. Software updates are commonly most effective on newer vehicles. Higher mileage vehicles may exhibit a similar symptom caused by a component failure. However, whenever major transmission repairs are performed the transmission software should be checked and updated as necessary.

The check engine light would initially come on at random & now never goes out. While the check engine light is lit, the shifting of the transmission is a "hard shift" if it shifts at all. Sometime the car will not move & then will move in a "bucking" motion. I have not been able to fix the problem as i was told it was my computer that needed to be replaced & i am not able to afford it. But, after reading this it seems i may need to reset the computer
Went to accelerate and no go for 200 feet on onramp couldn't get over 40kms an hour. then pressed on it and got up to 90, still hesitates and runs rough, very fragile trying to accelerate. Was given a p0p700 code tcm low range
At first, stuck in 3rd (automatic). Manually L and 2nd, OK. Push to D and 3rd OK. Never comes out of third. DTC codes P0717 and P2096. Cleared up by itself 3rd day.
Gets "confused" changing gears before getting stuck in second gear. Engine light comes on. Runs great, but unfortunately, only in second gear:)
Ck. Engine light would come on briefly and go out, after a few months it came on and stayed on so had it check and it showed " Automatic transmission speed sensor" was bad have tried to replace it but no one including Kia seems to have 1 to match it.
Car randomly lurches when shifting to 3rd or 4th gear. I can't tell. It's so disturbing that passengers ask if I had a collision! I need that transmission update desperately so I can go to school and now terrify every passenger within a two line radiius. Seriously people drive away from my vehicle because it looks like something is wrong when it lurches and it looks like I 'm going to to loose control, although that's just normal for me. Brand new vehicle ..... Are you kidding
No shift, replaced torque converter do to oil leak from the seal -pump.
hard shift from 2nd to 3rd then after a few times goes into limp mode.
25000kms not sure what that is in miles but its very low and the car engine light keeps coming on and going into limp mode or it simply just wont go into gear and sit there both in drive and reverse gears
