Question: smog fail

 Rookie

My car failed smog for the 15mph max is 64 I had 66. I failed by 2 points. 1) Will it help to drive your car for about 1/2 hour before. 2) but before doing that, does it help to put in fuel injection fluid when 1/4 tank of gas run car hard then take it in for smog, then put in the gas?
3) I did not do my spark plugs for 3 years. Will it help to get those changed before my retake on my smog. 4) Does it help to drive the car in the rain? Thank you

  First, what failed by two points? Nox failure is probably from a catalytic converter. A good tune up helps or oxygen sensors too but when the cats get tired they fail.

  Yahoo--it passed the 2nd time. I did change my spark plugs and air filter

  my corolla is a 1998 so it did not come with a egr valve smog fail shows NO reading at 15 mph measures 1646 max is 477 at 25mph measures 1556 max is 746 and HC reading at 15 mph is 91 max is 64 at ...

• NOx reading failed emissions check.
  Can I assume that if I replace plugs and wires That this will do the trick ? Or should I swap-out O2 sensor too?
