If you have a leak of gas under the hood, when the car sits overnight, it would make sense to be smelling it in the morning when you start up the car. For me, anytime I smell gas, I am concerned. Gas, sometimes leaves a stain where it was leaking. Take a look under the hood. In this case, let your nose lead the way and follow the scent.
