When I press the gas pedal to take off it acts like it doesnt want to go, once the rpms get to about 2800 it takes off fine. It has a k&n filter system on it. There are times when it will do fine like after I cleaned the fuel system with carb cleaner one time.

The MAF sensor could have been contaminated by the K&N air filter's oil.
You can get a MAF sensor cleaner made by CRC in most parts store, get it cleaned, disconnect the battery to reset adaptations and see if it acts up again. If it does, you will need a diagnostic.
