I have a gas leak running down the fuel line from the gas tank to the fuel filter. Is this something easy I can do on my own? Or is this able to even to be done?

Did your Engine Light come on and the mechanic told you this, or do you really smell gas leaking all the time. Has your gas mileage changed? The mechanic told us that we needed to replace our fuel cap the first time, so they charged us and had to pay for a gas cap. Next time the engine light came on about 3 months later, same guy told my wife we needed to replace the hose from the tank to the gas cap. Had her pay 299.67 to order the part, then said it would cost another 166.00 to put it on when it came in. I had my wife go back the next day and talk to the Service manager who made the mechanic replace the gas cap for free, returnen our money including the restocking fee and we haven't had any trouble since. It's been three more months now. So, if your gas mileage is the same and you are not smelling gasoline all the time, then try a new gas cap. Good luck. I checked with PepBoys and they would replace it for around $200 bucks labor and all. I have a Dodge Durango 2011.

Take the vehicle to a repair shop and let a MECHANIC fix it asap! And if it's leaking badly, have it towed to the shop!!
