skipping,give it gas it spits...now its started popping,when you give it gas on 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII

Had almost the same problem before it was the battery,put a new battery it started running fine.Have you ever heard this

The computer controlling ignition and fuel in your car is sensitive to battery voltage it must be above 10 volts or so to operate correctly. Popping sounds sounds like a lean running condition maybe a vacuum leak, low fuel pressure, ignition coil breaking down. Foolish to jump to conclusions without being able to do proper diagnostic tests.
