skipping while going uphill on 2003 Lincoln LS

Skipping while under a strain. Engine light will come on and blink and then go off after so many blinks. Car has 82,000 miles. Have noticed some hesitation in shifting and also harsh hesitation while car is in reverse. Thanks!

This is indicating an engine misfire. You should not drive the vehicle when this is happening, you will cause damage to the catalytic converter which will be very expensive to repair. Take the vehicle in to a good repair shop that has experience with emissions diagnostics. Read more about misfire issues before you take it in so you'll be better informed about this type of problem: http://repairpal.com/OBD-Code-P0300

Yoy may just need to have a tune up depending on the hesitation. I have a 2003 LS v8, would hesitate when excelerating. Went to parts store used computer and found out I needed plugs and ignition coil #8 was bad. replaced and working fine.

It is one or more of your ignition coil that has gone bad. A diagnostic scanner should be able to pin point which cylinder is misfiring. Replace the plug and the ignition coil. Same thing happens to me twice and took me on my 04 LS.

I HAVE AN 03 LS AND I HAD TO REPLACE ALL OF THE COILS. WHEN REPLACING THE COILS IT DOES NTO HURT TO GO AHEAD AND REPLACE THE SPARK PLUGS AT THE SAME TIME. IT IS EASY TO DO. IN ADDITION, YOU CAN GO TO ANY SHCUCKS STORE AND THEY WILL DO A FREE DIOGNOSTIC TEST ON YOUR CAR, JUST PLUG IT IN UNDER THE DASH AND TURN IT ON. IT WILL GIVE YOU A READ OUT OF WHAT IS WRONG AND CAM PIN POINT WHAT COIL IS BAD. THEY WILL PRINT YOU OUT A RECIEPT THAT SHOWS YOU IN WHAT ORDER THE COIL RUN.
