2003 Ford F-150

Question: shuts down at different speeds

Question

I have a well maintained 50,000 mile f150. I had a new ford fuel pump installed 2-3 monthes ago. The engine has shut down several times at different speeds and then won't restart untill about 15-20 mins. Any ideas? Thanks Bill

I could not find any common failures related to your vehicle. I do know that Ford had a defective batch of fuel pumps delivered to them a few months ago by a foreign vendor. They stopped selling them and found another supplier due to the high failure rates.

    To supplement Brian --
Are you able to verify a loss of fuel pressure or perhaps a loss of spark when the stall and no start occurs? This would be key on heading down the right repair path.
