Question: shorted battery cable

 Rookie

a bare spot on the positive battery cable touched the frame and sparked. the dashlights come on but it just clicks when i turn the key. what broke?

  There are many possibilities, start by checking all the fuses, relays, fusible links and circuit breakers.
