does shocks need replacing after 11 years

I don't think there is a specific time for shocks to be replaced. Some may still be fine, even after 11 years. Others may fail at a lower interval. Some of the signs of a worn shock absorber would be fluid leakage, excessive bouncing on bumps and noise coming from the shock absorber.
