DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! ALL REVIEWS SAYING THIS PLACE WILL RIP YOU OFF ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! I took my car here since it was a convenient location for me. I will never make that mistake again. Customer service was horrible, very rude, service took about 4 hours longer than the estimated time of completion, was not given a cost estimate for service, and charged more than $500 to replace a headlight cover. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!! I am shocked that in these economic times, this place would treat customers so badly, ensuring that customers never return.

Positive reviews are fake, posted by a paid PR agency. This place will rip you off. They tried to charge me $1200 for made-up nonsense under the car when I brought it to them for inspection. Things that weren't even part of the inspection process! These mechanics should be arrested for fraud. I brought my car to a legit place down the road and they couldn't find anything wrong. Also, their customer service is horrible and they take forever to perform simple operations on your car. Expect 4-5 hours for an inspection and lots of made-up, expensive fixes when they fail your perfectly fine car. Crooks. Frauds.

These guys are great! They are friendly, honest and old school!
If you want it done right this is where you should take your car. My wife recommended them to me when we were dating now I wouldn't go any where else

DO NOT GO THIS SERVICE STATION...DO NOT GO THIS SERVICE STATION...I went here last week and the fat bald guy at the counter tried to RIP ME OFF!!! They tried to charge me $118 for doing absolutely nothing. Please do not give them any business because they will try to rip you off. They are dishonest. Do yourself a favor and call Hector at Hex Automotive in Fairfax. Best mechanic in the area.

Stay Away.... just stay away... I went in for a certification sticker and they had the cohones' to tell me that I needed several VERY expensive repairs... but they obviously didn't even look at a couple of them because they were items that had been replaced (and certified) less than a year ago.

first of all let me say that i am tired of reading these lies about this service garage. the guy talking about the fat bald guy forgot to mention how the fat bald guy gave him the price he wanted to pay. RIPPED OFF I DON'T THINK SO. AND AS FAR AS HIS MECHANIC IN FAIRFAX BEING THE BEST JUST ANOTHER ONE OF HIS FAIRY TALES. IT TAKES THE MECHANIC TIME TO INSPECT A PROBLEM. I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT TECH TO LOOK AT THIS GUY'S CAR TOOK AT LEAST 45 MINUTES. SO THE $118 CHARGE WAS JUSTIFIED. IT'S PEOPLE LIKE THIS LITTLE CLOWN THAT GIVE A GOOD BUSINESS A BAD NAME. THE REST OF THESE PEOPLE AS WELL ALWAYS WANT TO COMPLAIN BUT IF YOU WOULD TAKE CAR OF YOUR CARS YOU WOULD NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THESE GREAT PEOPLE AT SHIRLINGTON SERVICE CENTER ARE TAKING A BEATING FROM THESE CLOWN'S AND IT IS ALL LIES. IF YOU WANT YOU CAR FIXED RIGHT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THE VERY BEST AND IT'S NOT IN FAIRFAX IT IS IN ARLINGTON AT SHIRLINGTON SERVICE CENTER. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO SEE THE FAT BALD GUY AT THE COUNTER I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE YOU WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY WHEN YOU LEAVE.

Absolutely terrible. The staff was very unfriendly and condescending toward me (quite possibly because I'm a 20 something, blonde female). I went in for a simple oil change and they found 6 additional problems with my car, including a number of expensive parts that needed to be replaced. I got a second opinion from another mechanic and he said that the parts they told me to replace would last for another 50,000 miles. Stupidly, I went back to this Shell station months later to get an inspection (they're located less than a block from my apt, so convenience played a huge role) and they refused to pass my car unless I replaced the expensive parts they suggested earlier. I should note that these are parts that aren't typically checked during a standard inspection. They just kept the problems on file and then refused to give me an inspection sticker unless I fixed them. Mind you, my car runs just fine. No problems with brakes, lights, wipers, etc. The repairs would have totaled over $1000. I took it to another mechanic, who replaced the parts I actually needed to have replaced and it totaled $44. Needless to say, I will never go back to this shell station.
