My husband worked on my car couple weeks back replacing the stabilizer arm and now my transmission is not changing right. What could he have done to it?

The boden cable may be out of adjustment, goes from the accelerator linkage to the transmission or did a vacuum line get disconnected?

The bushings for the shifter lever wear out to the point where they break and fall out. This causes excessive movement (loose feel) in the shifter lever and a clanging-type noise when changing gears.
