Shifting fork on 1998 Isuzu Trooper

My Trooper is stuck in fourth gear. I can move the shift lever to any position and not get out of fourth. I am pretty sure the shifting fork is broken. I could some general instructions on what it will take to replace it. Thanks. Jared

Hello Jared, it does sound like the problem is in the gear box. if you have the tools, jack, jack stands, and desire then next thing you need is instructions. Independent repair shops subscribe to an information service usually Alldata or Mitchell to get year and model specific repair information. Alldata allow access to the public to factory repair information, wiring diagrams , technical service bulletins, recalls, component location ect.... for a reasonable charge I forget the cost but it is wealth of information. The information is much better than the generic information found in auto parts store manuals.
