Question: Shifter keeps getting stuck in Park

Question

Visitor, 4.0L V6 SOHC, New Castle, CO, August 24, 2010, 11:30

Juat started, took it in, they pulled the counsel and cleaned the seansos and said it was fine. NOpe still gets stuck

    Could possibly be a brake switch, wich is connected to and deactivates the shift interlock system. This system keeps you from putting the vehicle in gear without your foot on the brake.

    Frequently when i put my car in park it gets stuck there. i have to keep pushing down the brake until i hear a click in the gearshift then it works. Any ideas what that could be
