question bit hard to understand but from what i gather is you're under the hood near the back of the trans. The cable fits into the trans case and snaps into to the fitting where the cable is black. At the end of the cable there is a white plastic fitting with about 1/4 inch hole in center which just presses and snaps onto the selector switch.
