only revs in 1st and 4th gear. It's a 4speed automatic transmission. So what happened is this; The car turned off completely (hear it's common with these) while on the freeway and as I was rolling to the shoulder I accidentally shifted past the N and it popped her into reverse for a millisecond while trying to put her in neutral I heard a clunk so obviously she didn’t like being put in R while still going forward. I rolled to a stop and got into park which also produced a clunk. After I got her started again I put her in drive but she only revved when trying to accelerate same when I put her into first (car has 1,2,3,D, n, R on steering column of course). I had to manually shift between 2nd and 3rd to get the rest of the way home. I'm wondering how extensive the damage could be from this with these symptoms and how much it may be to fix. I got the car 2 weeks ago and usually do all my own automotive repair but know little about transmissions...Thanks for ur time and yes I know how big of a fail this was on my part to begin with, LOL t hold it against me :)
