the shift cable isnt too bad to replace. I bought the used shift cable ($9.00) at a pick and pull salvage yard. my suggestion is get the part from one of these places and remove it your self and learn all the tricks about the cable. I can give you a few clues you have to pull on the the cable from inside the van to remove. put a mechanical wire on the other end so you dont have to have a hard time putting the new cable in. email me if you want youngdsrjj3@yahoo.com

my van is a 2007 venture will the part be the same as yours what do i replace,the whole part,we can put it in gear from underneath the hood.i can get one for10.00 at the salvage yard but how do we take it off my son says you have to go through the fire wall and something about the dash please help.

it unsnap from the transmission shift leaver there is a bracket with four bolts on the transmission un do it and under the dash board unsnap the cable from shift leaver pull it out from under the hood and repeat the same in reverse to install
