Question: shift cable

 Rookie

The shift cable is on the colum. This cable comes in two halfs. If I remove the cable from the car should the cable be easy to move form one end all the way to the other end? If so then I have a bad cable because this cable won't go all the way from one end to the other.Need help

  I would go to www.alldatadiy.com and get a subscription for your Chevy, its very reasonable. That way you will have pictures and all the info that you need. Then you will know.

• how do you replace the shift cable.
  it seems to have become disconected from the shifter in the steering colum. the shifter moves freely and the shift lever on the transmition does not move.
