A knocking sound may be noted from the engine when warm due to improper drive belt tension. Correcting the drive belt tension will commonly repair this concern.

There is a loud knock in the engine, it has been going on for a few months now. I took it to an auto repair shop today and they told me it could possibly be the drive chain...not sure! I will be getting a second opinion because they are trying to tell me the labor alone is $1300.

Engine knock noise though no performance issues. Knock tends to go away when a/c compressor is activated.

We haven't gotten it fixed yet, but have noticed a "clunking" or knocking sound coming from the engine. I'm hoping this is the issue, ours does it even while cold though. Hoping it's not the tranny!
