I'd be willing to bet this is your car's way of telling you that it's time for at least an oil change and a new oil filter.
If it's been awhile since you've had the car serviced, you may be due for additional maintenance items--air filter, brakes, tire rotation, alignment, etc.
Mercedes regular maintenance is expensive, mostly because they take Mobile 1 synthetic oil and lots of it, so be ready for that.
