2002 Buick Rendezvous Question: Secondary Air Injection Error

Rookie

Ive have the secondary air injection code come up on the code reader. I reset it once and about 4 days laterit came up again. It only comes on after the vehicle has been driven for over 20 miles. I hear the pump running when you 1st start the car then after warming up it stops. Where is the secondary air valve located? Could it be the pump?

Does the secondary air injection code on your 2002 Buick Rendezvous specify bank 1 or bank 2? If only one bank has failed then chances are the pump is good. If the code is a system failure where both banks are affected then the pump could be at fault. A good starting point would be to check for proper air flow from the pump at the check valves. You can test this while the pump is running during warm-up.

your secondary air pump is shot its found only at deallers they run any where from 200 to 400 dollars
