None of the trouble lights came on until right before the car died. Now they say I need a new engine and the warning lights should have come indicating that something was wrong. Has this happened to anyone else? Not sure if I go legal with it? (1 answer)

All my brake warning lights are on. My oil filter won't come off either. (1 answer)

All the warning lights are on. ABS, parking brake, traction control, every one is on. I'm told it could be the right wheel sensor which is common in the Scion. Is this usually true and do I have to take it to the dealer to get it fixed or is this something I can replace myself? Can I run a di...

Scion xD Recalls

Driver's Door Power Window Switch Overheats And Melts

The driver's side power window master switch may lack enough proper lubricant to protect the sliding electrical contacts of the switch. This can cause a short circuit of the switch, leading to overheating and melting of the switch. Dealers will inspect the switches and apply lubricant to them if no abnormality is found. If a problem is found, the switch circuit board will be replaced. These inspections and repairs will be performed free of charge to resolve the concern.

Driver's Seat

The springs used on the driver's seat adjustment rails can break. As a result the seat many not properly lock in position. In the event of a crash the driver's seat could move, increasing the risk of personal injury. Dealers will inspect the affected seat rails and replace them as necessary.

Incorrect Vehicle Weight Rating Label

Vehicles have a tire size/weight rating label to inform owners of the carrying capacity of their vehicle. These models are being recalled because the incorrect vehicle weight rating is shown on the information label. This could result in vehicle and tire overloading, increasing the risk of tire failure. Owners will be provided an updated vehicle weight label to correct this concern.

Scion xD Reviews

Only have 12,000 on it, but so far it is excellent. Great car in city. Few interior changes would be nice, but that is minor. On interstate it is not as good as in city, but it really is not built to be a interstate vehicle when it is designed like a box. It is roomier than it looks an the brakes are good. Would recommend to anyone.
I like the Scion for 2 or 3 people. Truck space is a pain. Can't stand a wheel chair up in back. Interior is a little cheap. Gas average is 30 to 34 miles, not to good for the sacrifice of a small car. It is bumpy to ride on rough roads. It is easy to drive and move around. This car would be ideal for a college kid driving to school. We traveled from Florida to Pa. with three 10 to 13 year ...
I have had my Scion now since April of 2008, with only 42000 miles and have had no issues thus far. I have recently experienced a rumbling sound when shifting from park to reverse. I brought it in and after diagnoses, was told that the trans axle had loosened up. The tech said that nothing was damaged and that they could push it back into place and re tighten. Now every time I go over a bump i...
