Body, Interior & Misc., June 4, 2012
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
Certain vehicles have an owner's manual that contains inaccurate information regarding the description and operation of the airbag system.
What Should You Do?
Toyota will notify owners of affected vehicles during June 2012. There are no symptoms related to this recall. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The owner's manual supplied with certain vehicles contains an inaccurate description of the operation of the front passenger occupant classification system. In addition, certain sections describing the airbag system require clarification. If a user reads and follows inaccurate owner's manual information, this could lead to an increased risk of injury to a front passenger seat occupant under certain crash conditions. To address this concern, Toyota will mail corrected inserts for the owner's manual to affected vehicle owners.
