  Been dealing with Chuck and his Dad, Hal for years. I always remembered seeing their shop on Lincoln blvd. When riding by as a youngster. When it came time to service my vehicle, I never had a second thought. Honest, communicative and fair, what else could you want in a shop?

  My car is a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado ETC. If you don’t live in the community but work in the community as I do, when it comes to auto repairs you have to rely on word of mouth. Where I work we have a large fleet of vehicles. Considering myself a wise thinker I went to our fleet maintenance director for a referral. I just wanted a radiator flush as preventative maintenance for that year’s upcoming summer season.
  Without hesitation the director referred me to Santa Monica Radiator. This referral launched a relationship that has remained strong over several years.
  I remember my first impression was the warm greeting I received from owners Chuck and dad Harold. A big plus was when I went to pick up my car, I was given the opportunity to talk to the mechanic that actually performed the work. I place a lot of confidence in what the mechanic has to say because he is not a salesman. I was reassured the fluid drained did not contain rust or any harmful debris. Again I was impressed when he offered up information and told me the radiator and radiator cap performed well under pressure testing. This is very important to know especially on a hot summer day when your biggest fear is being one of those drivers on the side of the road with his hood up and steam gushing from the radiator.
  My confidence in Santa Monica Radiator continued to build as I learned more about the business. I know of three mechanics that have been on the job in excess of 20 years. That signals to me that if the owners can earn this level of commitment from their employees then they must be honest people. Look at any of your chain store mechanic shops; you’re subject to see new employees every time you visit.

  Since this visit in 2003 I have returned to the shop for preventative maintenance and referred co workers. Because the car is aged beyond warranty I maintained meticulous records to make sure repair cost didn’t exceed the value of the car.
  The biggest challenge for me and Santa Monica Radiator was when it looked like it was the beginning of the end for my car. While returning from a trip to Palm Springs, my worse night mare happened, the car overheated.
  After leap froging from mechanic shop to shop I finally made it back to Santa Monica. Test revealed the dreaded blown head gasket . Not in the position to afford a new car or a new engine, I went on a product search and found the product Steel Seal.
  Not knowing whether the product was a commercial gimmick or not Santa Monica Radiator agreed to take the leap of faith with me.
  As luck would have it, it worked!
  For the next several years I had the use of my car that was doomed by other mechanic shops. Thank you Santa Monica Radiator.
  It took a period of time for me to get around to writing and sharing my experiences with you. I did not write this to kiss up to Santa Monica Radiator for lower repair costs because I have since moved on with a new car and bumper to bumper warranty.
  I wrote this to let the public know this is a business YOU CAN TRUST.

  Santa Monica Radiator & Air Conditioning has been our shop of choice for radiator and air conditioning for over 25 years. Now we have all our servicing done there. They are thorough, reliable and don't quit on tricky problems. They have my unqualified endorsement.
