We went to this shop because it was an independent garage which is family owned and operated. It doesn't appear like much from the outside, but it's what was inside that counts.
We met the service manager Susie, and the owner and mechanic Rudy. I immediately got a feeling that this was a no nonsense mechanic who would be fair with us. We described the problems with our Volvo and Rudy inspected the car.
I have been a mechanic myself, and asked if Rudy would take me into the garage and show me the problem areas, which he did with no hesitation. Rudy pointed out all of the trouble areas, and I could see that his assessment was true and correct. We left the car in their hands for a day to get an estimate.
After receiving the estimate which I knew to be a very fair... We left a deposit for parts to be ordered. We got the car back after two more days. This was due to parts ordering availability. This was totally understandable since ours is a special car with hard to get dealer parts. When they presented the car, we were surprised and delighted. It was spotless, having been thoroughly washed, polished and vacuumed.
The car drives beautifully now and it feels like it has received alot of TLC from these folks. I would recommend this shop very highly to anyone who asks. And I plan to service both of my vehicles there for a long time.
These people have honesty and integrity.
very nice people, until they try and screw you over. the one other review on this site for the place I believe was written by the owner himself.
The first said $90 for diagnostic - sounded reasonable. the got the code off the internal computer and started ordering parts before they even verified the problem. they ended up taking 5 hours before they finally did a compression test to find the real problem. then instead of just charging for diagnosis since they never fixed anything on the unit, the charged $400 for the work they supposedly did on it. the are really nice until you tell them you want a second opinion, then they start being a bit onnoying.
