runs rough at idle on 2004 Dodge Neon

the check engine light came on and still is. but it started running rough at idle before that it seams to run fine when you start driving it just at idle that it runs rough what could be the problem?

There could be several possibilities, but the first thing to do is have the codes read out. You may have a local parts store like Autozone that might read them for free. If you can get the codes and post them here, we can get you a more definitive answer.

Had the same problem. Replaced plugs, wires and coil pack. Turns out it was all a waste. The spark plugs were not gapped properly. Re-gapped spark plugs and now it runs better than ever! Try this before doing anything else and save alot of $$$!
