1997 Ford Escort Question: Runs fine in park but stalls after in gear and acclerates

 Rookie

It will run in park, no miss, and no problems reving the engine, but as soon as I put it in gear it acts as if it is missing and when I press the gas, it stalls. I hope you guys can help, Thank You!

    This can be a fuel supply issue (fuel pump, pressure regulator) or an fuel injection/ignition system issue (MAF Sensor, Crank sensor, cam position sensor, TPS, EGR) or even a plugged exhaust. So you see, there are too many possibilities to be able to know which one is causing the problem on your Escort.
    You'll need to have it diagnosed to know what is wrong, and to avoid replacing un-needed parts.
