MasterIf the running board won't retract and the door ajar light is illuminated the "ajar" switch is probably built into the door lock itself in the driver's door replaced a few door locks in Explorer they seemed a little flimsy but reasonably priced. If it is a common problem or a problem with body control modules the dealer or an independent repair shop that specializes in Ford/Lincoln may be the cheapest and most efficient in repairing the problem.

Rookiespray WD40 IN ALL THE DOOR LOCKS I HA THE SAME PROBLEM AND NOW IS FIXED
