My Tuarus is eating up gas like crazy and it used to run at an average of 1500 rms and now I notice it runs more like 2500-3000 (it has over 120,000 mi on it)

    you need to get a computer scanto check for a bad sensor

    Sounds like you lost overdrive. Take it to a shop

    whens the last time you did a tune up? maybe mass air flow sensor is dirty or fouled up throttle body
