just out of nowhere my truck died on me while stopping at a stoplight and started right back up but then died on me again at next stoplight but would not start. i got it home and popped the hood and started it up and it sounded like lifter noise from the right side so i took the valve cover off and started it back up and the noise was gone and it sounded perfect, so i put valve cover back on and there the noise was again and i went and covered the exhaust to see if there was any noise back there and the exhaust had a missing sound that was consistent with the knocking from the engine. ive replaced the water pump on it before. i just need some help cause its my only source of transportation. any suggestions?

     Master

Vehicle Application: 2000 Dodge Durango 4.7L, Vin N

Customer Concern: Lifter ticking noise from the front right side of the engine.
Tests/Procedures: 1. Check oil pressure with a master gauge. If oil pressure is not good,

    2. Drop the oil pan and check for sludge or coked oil in the pick up screen. If pressure was good:

    3. Remove the valve cover and inspect the cam follower and cam lobe for wear. If OK:

    4. Replace the lash adjuster.
    Potential Causes: Lash Adjuster
