Car has been aligned, 1 yr. old tires all around, tires balanced, brakes good, no broken tire belts and I still have a bad thumping over 45mph. Passed inspection, but can't find problem.
Higher speed, it gets worse.

Have you tried rotating the tires to see if the noise changes or follows a tire. Could it be a bad shock absorber not keeping the tire "firmly planted on the road". Would need to hear the noise to identify it but could it be axle related or the center support bearing for the axle.

Yes, Pat, I've already done tire rotation. Front struts are solid. No bouncing. Mo. inspection passed annd I'm just at a loss on the problem. Don't want to get "taken" on repairs and still have the troubles.

Like he said, could be axle related. Have the front axles and all bearings checked for wear problems, plus CV boots. Also, you may want to have the struts checked anyway. With front struts, relying on a "bounce" test may not show a problem that exists under driving conditions. Look for any fluid leaking from anywhere along the strut area; clean and dry is what you want to see. Have them checked at a reputable shop.
