revving engine on 2002 Dodge Ram 1500

engine revs on it's own when outside temps get to 50 degrees or less.does it all winter til spring gets here and temps rise again.any ideas on what the problem might be

The computer in your truck that controls fuel mixture and idle speed looks at coolant/engine temperature and ambient air temperature. A scan tool can read theses sensors without having to do intrusive testing at both sensors.

told it was throttle body being dirty,had it cleaned,but problem continued..i will have what you suggested checked out.thanks for your time.....

Driving down expressway fine. Press the gas and engine just revved. Got of e-way and truck died. Starts and runs but wont move when in drive. Auto trans as well
my abs and brake light stays on is the recall on the abs part.and it wont shift right , it stays in one gear, i thank its the kickdown cable ,can i drive it till i get it fixed.
