reset check engine light on 1995 Nissan Pickup (D21)

Hi how do I reset the check engine light on my pickup? There is nothing wrong with the truck, it has been reset before, but I want to do it myself this time. Thanks

Actually, there is something wrong with your truck, that is why the check engine light is on. Because you can not notice anything wrong, means that the computer is running a back up program to compensate for what is wrong. If you disconnect the negative cable for the battery, the light will go out, but most likely it will come back in a few days or sooner. By the way, it will fail an emissions test in any state with the light on.

Disconnect the battery for 10mins this should do the trick. If you have a big problem where the OBD system detects the problem as soon as the car is started theres nothing you could do but repair your vehicle.
