Do the wheel bearings in this 2000 RAV 4 ever need replacing?

  It depends on where you drive and where you live. You live in a snow area and the rock salt on the roads really eats up the bearings in a hurry. So yes, I have seen the need to replace wheel bearings in snow areas, regardless of what type of vehicle you drive.
