Replacing water pump in Nissan Maxima on 1996 Nissan Maxima

I have Nissan Maxima Year model 1996 I want to know if it is neccessary to take motor down to replace water pump.and what about timing chain do we have to replace it ?My e-mail address is please reply.Thanks.

no, there is a access plate for the water pump. there is another cover for the tensioners assembly that has to be released so you can remove the pump. you shold let a shop do this. if you mess up the chain, you can damage the motor. i am assuming it is a v-6 Roy
