Question: Replacing Serpentine belt
Answer #1M_Kast April 03, 2010, 19:18Journeyman
The serpentine belt is the belt in between the radiator and the engine (also attached to the engine obviously). The serpentine belt is the belt that spins the alternator and the a/c compressor.
To remove the belt you have to loosen the tensioner that is located on and attached to the alternator. loosen the belt and remove. after removal place the new belt on the correct spools and engine components. Make sure it is aligned correctly and then tighten the tensioner. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN! DO NOT UNDER-TIGHTEN!

How do you loosen the tensioner? Does it require a socket to loosen or does it simply push in to release? Any chance of describing the tensioner pulley. Also, there is another belt besides the serpentine belt. Actually, this one may be the one making the noise. Do you know how to remove it?
Thank you for all of your help and advice.

It's a side way motor the belt is on the passenger side, not between the radiator
