Question: replacing radiator hose assembly

Question

Visitor, 4.7L V8, Mayer, AZ, May 24, 2010, 19:25

Just replaced the upper radiator hose assembly. There don't seem to be any leaks and radiator is full. But water temp. soared into red zone during short test drive. Do not have owners manual. Does system need to be reset somehow or repressurized at shop to restore?

sounds like a failed thermostat. remove the upper hose again and change the thermostat.
