1996 GMC Jimmy Question: replacing brake drums

how do you replace the brake drums on a 96 gmc jimmy -

Pull them straight off. You may need to "un-adjust" the rear brakes first, and if the drum seems rusted to the axle flange hit the drum with a good size hammer in between the wheel studs. -

Pull your wheel off remove the drum it make take some heat if it is froze on around the spud most generally a propane torch is enough but in some cases more heat is required. check and replace brake shoes if necessary replace the the drum and put wheel back on. your done. -

Do not heat brake drums or rotors, you run a good chance of warping the rotor or creating an out of round drum. -
