I was told that I have 3 engine mounts that needs to be replaced. 2-upper and 1-lower.How many are there altogether on my car anyway, as the repair shop seemed to be interested in only costs. what would be a rough estimate on costs? And how long could I go without them being replaced, as I plan on getting another car in January 2011.

There are (3) mounts, 2 on the passenger side, SUPPORT PACKAGE,Engine Mount 05086709AB, ISOLATOR,Transmission Mount 05274903AD and one on the drivers side, SUPPORT, Engine Mount 05274952AA. Labor hours is generally about 5 hours. As for how long yo can drive on them as is depends on their condition which I a unable to visually inspect so I would have to leave that determination to your technician. If in doubt, get a second opinion. Here is an estimator link: http://repairpal.com/estimator?car_type_id=3969 and a repair facility link: http://repairpal.com/directory?address=70065&car_brand_na...

Thank you Johnny. I will definitely look further into it. So far, I've gotten 3 different estimates: $662, $724 and $865.
