2001 Lincoln LS Q&A
2001 Lincoln LS Question: Replacement cost of the ball joints
The wheel bearing is not the same as the ball joints. The Estimator tool does not list ball joints, unfortunately. The lower ball joints are part of the steering knuckle assembly, which is really expensive. The upper ball joints are part of the upper control arm assembly. Figure each steering knuckle is about $650 installed. Each upper control arm is about $310 installed. A good wheel alignment is necessary after replacing any of those components. What is the problem with the car? Have you verified the ball joints are loose or worn? I can say it's not that common for this car. - DaveJHM
