Replaced transmission with a used transmission and now car won't start. on 1999 Buick Park Avenue

Car sat for 4 months before I replaced the transmission with a used transmission. The battery was dead at the time. I put a new battery in at the same time. Did not try to start car before replacing transmission. Now I can't start the car; it won't crank over. I can jump it off the starter and it will run with key on.

You should check for power to the signal wire at the starter when the key is in the crank position, this wire may have been damaged during trans replacement. Otherwise the starter solenoid may have given up over the last 4 months requiring starter replacement.
