Is the water pump driven by the timing belt on my 1998 Lexus ES 300?

    The water pump is driven by the timing belt, so it is a good idea to replace it at the same time. This will save you in labor costs should the pump start leaking later.

    Thank you munkyrench, I spoke with the dealership and will have them install a new water pump at the same time
    the timing belt is installed. You are correct.
