Question: replace/ repair transmission

 Rookie

How much should I expect to pay to either have my transmission rebuilt or replaced. The vehicle only has about 110,000 miles and is four wheel drive.

  $3000 - $4000 depending on whether it is a factory reman unit or done in a shop. I see lots of 4wd autos fail on the Ford SUVs with even less mileage than yours. Do you ever pull a trailer? If so, get an add on and MUCH larger cooler for your rebuitl/reman tranny. I used to do Transmission overhaul at Ford dealerships, and heat was the killer, the fluid gets too hot when pulling a load and the transmission fails.
