I will like to replace the motor on my 1998 Jaguar XJ8, I want to know up to what year of a new model motor will work for this car.
The original millage in my car is low but the motor is mess up do to a broken timing belt??

    Really have to call a Jag parts dept person, there are so many. many variables. It is not like the 1960s, where 1 motor fit many years worth of cars and trucks.

    are you sure about the year? an XJ8 is a 4.0 liter V8 and
    does not have a timing belt; it has a chain.
