Question: replace heater corer

I am about to replace my heater core and have seen conflicting statements on the web of the work needed.Ive read thru the glove box and removing the whole dash as well as discharging the AC system.
Can I replace it without removing the whole dash and does the removal of the heater mean I have to discharge my ac ?
Any other advice would be helpful

    If you need step by step instructions, & illustrations i can post up some pictures for you at sinautoscan.com under forum i don't think you have to discharge the AC system and you don't have to remove the whole dash just the glove box.
