Question: Replace a distributor in a 1999 dodge avenger

 Rookie

I got a diagnostic completed and was told the distributor needs to be replaced. What is the best way to replace the distributor and is there any step by steps to take me through that online?

  INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS
  DISTRIBUTOR INSTALLATION
  (1) Turn the crankshaft clockwise to set the No. 1 cylinder
  at the compression top dead center.
  (2) Align the housing’s mating mark with the gear’s mating
  mark.
  (3) Install the distributor to the cylinder head.
  (4) Set ignition timing with timing light to spec on Emission label under the hood
