RepairPal Steps on the Gas with Investment from USAA

Strategic Investment Brings Trusted Repair Shops and Educational Resources  to U.S. Consumers

November 11, 2014 (San Francisco, CA) – RepairPal, the leading authority on consumer car care, today announced a strategic investment by a subsidiary of USAA, a premier financial services provider to U.S. military and their families.  The funds will enable RepairPal to further expand its nationwide network of certified auto repair shops that currently reaches two-thirds of the U.S. population.

"RepairPal’s mission from day one has been to protect consumers and drive positive change in the auto repair industry,” says RepairPal CEO Art Shaw. “We admire USAA’s success in delivering trust, transparency and excellence in consumer service, and welcome the investment in our company.”

Since its launch, RepairPal has worked to bring confidence and peace of mind to an industry darkened by a widespread mistrust of mechanics. The RepairPal Certified shop network requires automotive shops to undergo comprehensive assessments to meet stringent standards for quality in training, equipment and customer service as well as guarantee fair prices within the RepairPrice Estimator range. In just two years, the RepairPal Certified network has grown to nearly 1,000 shops and spans all 50 states.

“Our growth indicates how desperately consumers need a better experience with fixing their cars, and we’re here to do the hard work to serve them,” says Shaw.

USAA and RepairPal are both known for a deep commitment to customer service. This investment will accelerate the growth of RepairPal product offerings to enhance the consumer experience and build trust in auto repair and maintenance.

About RepairPal
RepairPal’s mission is to take the mystery out of auto repair. Launched in 2007, RepairPal developed a patented auto repair price estimator that educated consumers about the fair cost of auto repair. Arming consumers with knowledge of this kind was revolutionary in an industry that is riddled with negative stereotypes and poor consumer satisfaction. RepairPal has since expanded its product offering to build a nationwide network of certified repair shops that strive for a better car care experience marked by transparency and trust. All RepairPal Certified shops are pre-screened for quality, tools, training, and a commitment to honor the price guidelines set by the estimator.
