the flange seems to have rusted and I would like to splice it, however seems too close to the o2 sensor. Is there an easy fix?

My reason for asking is because I'm unemployed with little means and was hoping there was something I could do. I've been doing reg. maintenance, (brakes, oil change, O2 sensor change, thermostat etc. This would be an easy fix if the flange wasn't so close to the O2 sensor. not enough pipe once cut to put on a piece with U bolts.
