My air conditioning doesn't work, if I disconnect the battery for a while and reconnect the air pump will come on and blow cold for about 3 minutes then it shuts down and says low refrigerate, I purchased a new refrigerate canister with hose and gauge and the reading on the gauge is up close to the red area, that is the over full area, or to much pressure reading, please tell me how to fix this. Some people have told me it sounds like the system is plugged either from oil from the pump or broken parts from the pump, I dont believe this because the air blows cold for about 3 minutes when I disconnect and reconnect the battery. HELP PLEASE, I'm going to AZ soon.

To diagnose an A/C problem, first check to see that the compressor is turning on. If it isn't, then figure out why. If it is on, you will need to connect a pressure gauge to the low and high side of the system, and check the pressures.
A/C systems are fairly complex, so it is crucial that you understand the basic principals of how they work. Without this knowledge it is very difficult to diagnose cooling problems.

I was looking for technical information on testing, I said the compressor is running for about 3 minutes and sending cold air to the passenger compartment then the commpressor shuts down and says on the dash to add refriderate, this is all in my first statement, if you read it. I do mechanic work on equipment trucks and cars as a living, but I haven't the equipment to do air conditioning service, I was looking for you to tell which valve or sensor to check for operation, or if you were familar with the symtoms of this failure.

When the compressor stops running, it it getting power to the the compressor? It may be losing power because of a low pressure switch, or an issue with the control side of the system. Or it may be that it still is receiving power but the compressor clutch is failing.
I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly how to address this, only the basics on how to diagnose it.
